Weekend activities....

Not much this weekend. It was really really hot so the neighbors put up the water slide much to the delight of the kids. Mace was the only one a little unsure of it, I'm sure as the summer goes on he'll but going a mile a minute too.

A typical neighborhood evening....happy hour for the adults and play time for the kids.

On Saturday we had a party, this is the only picture I took. Drew was so cute with her huge smile riding around I couldn't resist getting the camera out.
I'm off to Mexico on Saturday with my very good friend JILL for a wedding of one of our college girlfiends & leaving my boys behind. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!!

A birthday party & the museum

Saturday night Tash & Zolt had a party to celebrate both of their birthdays. There were lots of friends, lots of swimming & lots of fun.

The singing...

My good friend Laura from Merrill & her wonderful husband John.

Me & Mike. And ladies...he's single!!

Julie & her cousin David.

Saturday morning Julie & I took the kids to the Palm Springs Art Museum. They had lots of stations set up for kids & adults to try stuff out. This is Mace in the clay area.

Budding artist Luke & acrylics.

Oh, random-this was and early after breakfast swim in the morning.

A little charcoal drawing, a collective project between Mace & Luke.

Ty took his drawing very serious. We had a great time!!!

Best Mother's Day Ever!!!

These were the gifts I woke up to, necklaces made by Luke & Mace and a great picture of my big boy. I love them!!!

Since it was my day I got to choose what to do for the day and the boys have been asking for weeks if we can go to the beach so we all loaded up, Julie & Cali too, and went to Ocean Beach for the day. You can't beat the 30 degree cooler weather at the beach!!!

Everyone got into some crap hunting at the tidepools below Sunset Cliffs.

By the OB Pier.

Shell gathering, washing & throwing back in the waves was a favorite activity for Mace.

Luke preferred getting as many shells as he could and showing me every single one.

Poking sticks at unsuspecting crabs....then running yelling when they come out.

Dog beach on a Sunday, about 200 dogs, it was packed!!!!

Ty trying to humor me with a smile. You can almost see the 'Awwww, come on mom' in his grin.
Thanks to all my boys for such a wonderful day!!!! I'm so lucky!

Big fish, small pond

Last week my sister Betsy & her family was visiting from Washington so we went over there for dinner. Eric & Brady took the boys to do a little fishing before dinner and this is what they got.

Pride over a big fish runs deep in our house.

Pros in the making. They can't wait for some summer Minnesota fishing.

Los Dodgers

Last Sunday Eric, Julie, Kerri, Niko & I took Ty & Roman to a Dodgers game. We had so much fun but to my dismay Ty has become a huge Dodgers fan....not that I don't like them but he had been dissing my Padres big time ever since they lost in Sunday's game. At least the Cubs are still his favorite!!!

We had great seats, right down the 3rd base line so both boys brought their gloves in hope of a foul ball.

Roman unfortunately joined Ty's 'down with the Padres' club since they made a $1 bet with Julie.

Julie & enjoying a nice cold beer baseball game style and of course paying very close attention to what's happening.

Coolest thing ever, they let the kids run the bases after the game. How awesome for a little boy who loves baseball to say he ran the bases at Dodger Stadium??? Thanks Niko & Kerri for taking them down there!!! This is for sure something to remember.

2 of the newest members of the Dodger Fan Club. Ty had me get the shirt out of the hamper to wear to school on Monday...loving it!!!

I have pictures of Ty in front of Fenway with me and Wrigley Field, Angel Stadium & the Metrodome with Eric so I had to continue with Dodger Stadium.......hopefully many more to come. The kids loves his sports just like his daddy and I love it!!!

And much to everyone's amusement, this was our entertainment on the way out of the parking lot. I have never seen a car so far jacked up on hydraulics and he just kept moving it.....right, left, front back....very entertaining!!!

Nice moves.

Los Cabos

Last weekend my incredibly stifled, deprived, non-traveled husband went to Cabo San Lucas with two other couples for some deep sea fishing & relaxing. Did I mention he went after we were only home from Puerto Rico for like 6 days....poor guy. (not that I'm bitter or anything...at least not until I go to Puerto Vallarta at the end of May with my girlfriends!!! All.by.myself.)
Eric & Niko on the water taxi to the beach.

The friends he went with, Adam, Denise, Niko & Kerri. They are all pretty much the same as us so it's easy to see why he had such a good time.

A very strange, unknown fish under the glass bottom boat. I think they got out the harpoon gun after they saw it!

Eric showing off his gymnastic skills. Eric taught Ty how to do flips into the swimming pool, it's really cute.

One of the famous Cabo vistas.

Eric having a super rough day in Cabo. I know, I'm a slave driver, what can I say?? Good thing he brought me back all of these beautiful pictures so I can see what it's like too. :)

Eric & Kerri

A cute picture of Niko & Kerri. I'm still trying to figure out who the ringleader of the Cabo stories is.....So far I really like Niko's kickstand story. That's the word she used to describe Eric dancing. Lucky for him, I'm just as good as a dancer.

A good calamari dinner for all.

A beverage to cool off with?

I really am glad they had such a good time. Next time, I'm in!!!

Earth Day Planet Party

Last Saturday Julie & I took the boys to the Living Desert for their "Planet Party" to celebrate Earth Day. They had all sorts of extra stuff for kids to do plus all the regular exhibits. They were absolutely wonderful, the weather was perfect and we all had a great time. (Eric was in Cabo...that's another post all together!)

They enjoyed the kids area, Gecko Gulch, the most. Here are my little spiders...

Ty brushing a smelly goat. Nice.
Lukey all suited up for the climbing wall. Eric & I used to climb with Paul, who owns the wall so we know all of the people working it usually so Ty & Luke are very comfortable and love it, Mason-not so much. Luke and Ty also fed the giraffe, Mason wanted nothing to do with it.

Instead Mason liked hanging out in the faux bee hive, much less scary for him.
Thanks Julie for coming and sharing such a fun day with us!!!
