Gloucester and the Ducks in Mass

Luke and Mason got to drive the famous Boston Duck on the Charles River on Monday.

Sunday we took the boys to Gloucester Mass for the day.  Eric wanted to see where the film Wicked Tuna.  The town did not disappoint!  We happened on the the last day of their biggest festival of the year, the St. Peter's Fiesta.  They honor the  patron Saint of the Fisherman with boat races and the greasy pole competition.

Boston Common.

The lock in Gloucester.

We went to Cape Ann Brewing for lunch.

And watched the rowers get ready.

The whole town migrated so we just followed.  Boat races first.

The highlight of the day, the greasy pole contest.  65 pounds of crisco and you need to get the Sicilian flag at the end.  The weather was crazy, went from clear to cloudy and cold to clear again.

Such a cute town!!

We didn't try the McDonalds lobster roll but Eric got his oysters.

The finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Boston Common walk.
A great start to our Mass trip.
