Catching in Nassau

Friday dawned beautiful in Nassau.  We had scheduled a private fishing charter from 8-12 and we were off the boat by 7:30 ready to go catching.

After 2 hours of trolling in the calm waters, we finally got a fish on!!  Ty pulled in the first, a very pretty, about 10 lb female mahi mahi.  Super exciting!

Such pretty colors!!

They were all pretty excited and then after a few minutes, fish on again.  This time Eric had Mason and Luke pull it in for a while and then the waiting started....a big fish, took about 55 minutes to get it in the boat, we caught too more while waiting for Eric to reel this on in.  Turned out to be a 60 inch male mahi mahi (Dorado) and was a prize for Eric.  8 inches off of the world record.

And waiting....

Waiting....I hear it's kinda hard to pull in a 70 lb fish on 40 lb test...

The P's.

So cool coming into the harbor, pouring rain on one side and clear as can be on the other.

Lunch.

And it really was lunch, we had them filet up 2 of them and they took us to a restaurant that fixed it 3 ways, grilled, blackened and fried.  So yummy!!

Yum!!

We all loved it.

Of course I had to take a picture of me in front of the RBC in Nassau.  Representing.

We capped off our last evening with some shuffleboard.  It was such a wonderful vacation, cruising with young kids is the best.  And we are so lucky that my parents were brave enough to be with us for 10 days straight.  One for the books!!
