More XPLOR

I don't know how but IPhoto just started showing these pics again so here goes.  This was the paddling part. Ty got his own, Eric and Mason shared and Luke shared with me.

The views were amazing!

Next was the swimming portion and Mason was on my back the whole time and Eric had Ty and Luke hanging on him the whole time. Not ideal but still so super cool.

Last but certainly not least, 14 zip lines!!! After I got over my anxiety of climbing up the towers, it was really cool.  3 ended in water and there was a water slide in the middle too.

A day we will remember forever!!

XPLOR!

By Friday, our last day, we were all feeling better and decided to go to XPLOR.  The kids had really been looking forward to this so I'm so glad we were able to go.  It was so cool.  We did these vehicles, cave swimming, cave canoeing and 14 zip lines!!  3 of them ended in water and some went through waterfalls.  The food was surprisingly really really good and we were there when they opened at 9 and stayed until they closed at 5. A prefect end to a great trip with some pretty amazing friends.

My computer is having some issues with the rest of the pics, they will come later.

Last morning, Mason.

We took the bus to Cancun, so much cheaper than a cab and super nice.

The next 3 days....

The next 3 days were spent recovering for all of us.  We stayed close to home and only ventured out for a bit here and there.

It was not to hard to force ourselves outside with weather like this!!

Dinner with the fam.  All feeling better but still not 100%.

These little guys were handing around every morning, we had no idea what they were but that didn't stop the boys from feeding them one day.

A little football with all sorts of crazy rules on the beach.

A visit to Tulum

On Monday the 30th we hired a driver and loaded up the 7 of us for a day at Tulum and it's beaches.

It was a beautiful, hot day and Tulum was packed.  They now have ropes around all of the ruins so you can't get too close.  It was a bummer that it was so different and so crowded.

We did manage to get some amazing pictures.

Afterwards we headed over to Playa Paraiso for some cooling off.

I had two very pooped out boys on the drive home!

We had a late lunch in Tulum at a seafood restaurant that was packed....and a few hours we went down one by one...Terrible food poisoning, the worst any of the 7 of us has ever had.  It was a rough 48 hours, a visit to the doctor and calls to our nurse and doctor friends at home.  We almost took Luke to the emergency room, it was pretty scary.  We all went to urgent care a week later when we got home, still having stomach issues, turns out it was Salmonella poisoning.  We finally ended up celebrating New Year's Eve on Jan 2nd, that's about when we could stomach food again, and it was Italian, no more Mexican food for us the rest of the trip!!

On to Playa Del Carmen

Saturday evening we arrived in Playa for a week.  We had a beautiful condo on the beach just South of town.  The kids got right down to monkeying around.

Playa was a lot different than I remember 12 years ago.  Lots and lots more people, buildings and things going on but still beautiful.

Luke keeping us hydrated.

The view from our balcony at Xaman-Ha.

Family photo.

They loved the fire dancers.

This is the hotel Eric and I stayed at 13 years ago, he proposed on the rooftop. I was happy to see it was still there!!
