Memorial Weekend 2014

I got up and out the door at 5:40am last Wednesday to this, not a bad reason to get up.

Our chicks like the bar, go figure.

Saturday we headed down to San Diego for the long weekend.  We went to the Little Italy Street Fair and then on to Ballast Point Brewery for some tastings.

Saturday night we got to watch the Cubs beat the Padres. The were giving away retro jerseys so Luke traded in his alliance to the Cubs. Traitor.

Such an awesome park.

Watching field side.

We of course had to have a pedi cab home for the 4 blocks.

My #1 Cub fan, Mace.

Sunday we headed to Chula Vista RV park where the Posas were staying for the weekend, tons of fun for everyone!

Monday we took the boys to the tidepools at Ocean Beach, always a huge success.

He's getting so big!!!

It was such a beautiful day.

Monday we arrived home to 110 degrees and practice for the boys travel team.  We had a bbq at the park and the kids had a blast, heat and all.

At the pool at the Marriott on Sunday Eric heard a voice, for anyone who has watched Survivor this past season (we watch every one) you would recognize Trish, she was in top 5, just coming off the reunion show and super chatty and sweet to take a picture with the boys.

CHAMPS!!!

We had a big weekend of baseball.  Luke and Mason ended their rec season on Wednesday closing out the game as pitcher and catcher.

Ty's rec team, the Indians Grey ended up going undefeated in the double elimination tournament to become league champions!

The winning time!

Our chickens seem to like hanging out at the bar.

Luke and Mason had a 2 day tournament in Brawley this past weekend and it was hot!  Luke and Mason finished out game 2 on day 1 pitching and catching and Luke got player of the game for his triple.

There was lots of pool time after the games in the 105 degree heat.  The boys had so much fun.

We took 2nd place in the tournament with a win early on Sunday and then a loss to the champs, Fogball Black.

The boys.

Proud boys.

Luke, my catcher.

A wedding and more ball.

These pics are so out of order it drives me nuts but I have not had the time to figure out how to correct that...sorry.  This is last Friday when the bus brought the 5th graders home from camp, the little brothers and sisters lined up inside the gate to cheer when they got off the bus, so cute!

Ty and the Indians Grey won their 1st playoff game against the Dream Team on Friday night, it was a sweet victory.

Saturday Luke and Mason had a tournament in San Bernardino and ended up with 2nd place and 1st travel ball trophies.  They were so excited.

Saturday night we headed to my girlfriend Courtney's wedding.  She and Ryan got married in their backyard.  She works at Merrill so it was great to see lots of old friends.

The Desert Elite and their trophies.

A little Mother's Day pie eating contest of course. Robb was the winner.

Another of Ty at camp.

And our winners!!!

Monday was the first game of rec ball playoffs for the twins, they won.  Luke batting.  He had an unassisted double play at short stop.  We were so proud of him, on the way home we were talking about it.
Me: Luke, that was was such a great double play!
Mason: Yeah, that was such a BS play Luke!
Me: WHAT?
Mason: It was totally a BS play, right mom?
Me: What exactly do you mean?
Mason: Like 'Na Na Na, Na Na Na....'
Me: Ohhhh, you mean ESPN!
Mason: That's what I said....

Mason at bat.

Mason pitching.

Ty's team won again and play for the championship on Friday.

He had his own little cheering section.

Another Mason conversation on the way home tonight:
Me: Yes Mason, I'm totally serious.
Mason: Really mom?
Me: No, that was sarcasm.
Mason:  I need a sarcasm dictionary.
