The ponies at Del Mar

Last Sunday Julie & I took Luke & Mason to the horse races in Del Mar. Niko, Kerri & Roman met us there too which added to the fun. Every Sunday in the infield they have kids stuff so both adults and their kids get to enjoy a day at the races. It didn't hurt that it was 115 in the desert & 80 in Del Mar!!!

They made hats.

& watched the horses. I love the races.

Mission Beach

PB & OB

This isn't a picture of anyone we know, I just thought a bunch of surfer boys was the cutest thing.

Ty & Ethan walking downtown San Diego by the Star of India. We ventured out to Anthony's Seafood Grotto for lunch one day, all 11 of us, fun & good food!!

Miss & Ethan at the tidepools of OB.

Mason looking to catch some crabs in his net. Overall we got about 6 of them.

Eric was the expert crab catcher. With his 3 little helpers of course.

Luke really enjoying a day at the beach.

Mason getting ready to master the sand castle. They loved the beach and have already asked a few times when we are going back!

76 to 118....

This past week we rented a place in Pacific Beach with my parents, sister & her family. The kids had a blast at the beach, belmont park & the parks. We left today at 76 degrees, rolled into the desert at 118.....gotta love the beach.

Ethan loved the beach, helicopters & his cousins.

Luke attempted to take out the boogie board.

The house we rented had an old army tent with pads and a bunch of boxing material, makes for fun with the 3 boys!!

Surfer boy Luke. The house had a pink wetsuit we could use with some boogie boards. Ty justified it by saying that Tony Hawk wears pink.

My beach boys.

My dirty beach boys. They got about 3 showers a day & loved every minute.

Digging for something good I hope! Every day was wonderful!!

4th of July

What do you get when you have 26 people, 4 dogs, 2 cabins, 1 trailer & 1 tent? A super fun filled 4th of July in Big Bear!!! We spent yet another wonderful 4th up at the Posa's cabin in Big Bear Lake. The weather could not have been better and it was a great escape from the desert heat.
The deck got a bit crowded with all the people, it's a good thing we all really like each other!!
Luke & Zoe enjoying the tree house.

Scott, Mindy, Julie & Troy.

The kids digging into their ribs, quite a site when they were done. My boys do love ribs!!

Eric took his jeep up and took everyone on jeep runs. This was the view from the mountain when I went. The lake, not a cloud in the sky, cool weather...what could be better?

Eric & Zolt

Eric's favorite thing in the world, his jeep.

The American River & Fast Friday

Ty & Auntie Jill at the River.

The water was cool & beautiful. Cali could not stay out of it!! I think everyone but Em swam over to the other side to check it out & jump off the rocks.

So pretty!!!

Ty & Eric doing the big swim across. I did it with Luke on my back, confirmed the fact that I am not a strong swimmer at all!!!

Saturday morning we went to the farmer's market down the street from Em & I's house. There was an emu on a leash much to the delight of the kids. Kind of just a big old bird to me.

Em & I live across the street from the fairgrounds and on Friday nights they have 'Fast Friday's' which are dirt bike races without brakes. This is the pee-wee group, I think they were even younger than Ty and so cute!!

These are the big guys. Every time they went around the track you had to cover your beer (or whatever you were drinking!) because you got pelted with dirt. Despite that it was a blast!!!

Napa

Napa Valley- what a wonderful place, kind of a bit of heaven on earth for wine lovers. Last Friday we picked up our fabulous brother in law Jon who lives in Sacto, Jill unfortunately had to work, and we spent the day in Napa. This is the crew at Elizabeth Spencer.
Julie and I at Peju. It was my fave wine.

All of us at Grgich Hills.

The wine tasting room at Peju with our personal taster (or whatever you call him)-Kai. He was great and we really learned a lot. 400+ wineries in Napa, only 4% of it's wines supply California and white zin still the most sold wine in the US, funny.
