Handsome Boys!!

Check out the new cuts!! Eric attempted to trim their hair on Wednesday and result: half bowl, half mullet. Good try but not very pretty. So I took them to get proper cuts yesterday and it is quite a bit shorter than I would have liked but so darn cute. They keep tilting their heads to the side and saying 'see my new chut?' At least bath time, swim time & sunscreen time (a must with my super white children) will be a bit easier.

Luke & I were laying in his bed this morning and he sat up, cupped his ear and said 'my hear birdies' so Mason came running, I asked him if he wanted to come up and he shouted enthusiastically 'O TAY!!'

Yup-It's Tiger.

Thursday was Ty's last day of golf school and he tied for 3rd place in his age group!!! (Daddy actually said that if he had kept score like the other parents and grandparents Ty would have for sure been #1!!) When Ty got home to show me his trophy, I swear his chest had swelled up two times bigger with pride. It was the cutest thing. He could not wait to show anyone he saw and I'm pretty sure it's making a trip to school today to show everyone. Thanks mom & dad for Ty's great week!!!

Tiger Hershberger

Ty finished his last day of golf school yesterday and today he has his first tee time at 9:40. His age group plays 3 holes from 150 yards and then everyone has a bbq at the club. And yes, he is wearing his Tiger red for the last day! He has loved it and is really good, could probably beat me any day of the week (I haven't played for over a year so that may not be saying much) but my dad took him out on Tuesday for two holes and he shot at 11 & 14. Not bad for a 5 year old.
Eric and Poppa are going out with the kids today to help and Eric is bringing the camera. I wish I could be there, I can imagine them, all puffed up with pride. This is just the beginning.....when the twins were born Eric said he has his foursome complete, I can't wait until they all go out together!!

Fun in the Sun

On Saturday we went to Julie's pool (heated) and spent the morning soaking up some sun. They kids love swimming, love Julie (she keeps a supply of popsicles!) and we get to relax and enjoy them. The weather has been great, mid to high 80s and sunny, doesn't get any better than this!
This is our street and this is a typical night on our street. Six little boys (sometimes some extras stop by) zooming around in jeeps, hummers, riding bikes, big wheels & acting crazy while the parents chat, look out for everyone and sometimes have a cocktail or two, all while getting them pooped out, ready for dinner, a bath and a snuggle. I love our neighborhood!!

Happy 1st Birthday to my littlest nephew - Ethan Lee!!!!!

Happy Easter!!!

We went to my parent's for Easter and the bunny had already been there!! He actually came to our house too & hid Easter baskets but he hid baskets and eggs at Poppa & Mimi's house!!! Mason would grab an egg, open it and either pocket the quarters or stuff whatever candy was in egg and drop the egg and move on, he saw no need for his basket. We told him no more candy so he shoved every gummy worm in his mouth and ran....

Our attempt at a family picture. We had a wonderful day with family and great friends. We then got a great gift from my parents, they kept the kids overnight!!!!! Eric and I were actually alone at our house, a first in a long, long time. We relaxed, napped and went out to dinner. What an amazing day for everyone!
Ty & Julie taking a spin on the golf cart. It was about 90 and sunny, you can't beat that Easter weather.

Ty starts golf camp this week at my parent's club and he is so excited, especially to play with daddy when he's done.

Ty practicing his pro diving skills. My parent's have heated the pool for the week so the kids can enjoy it.
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!!!

2 1/2 & Eggs

2 1/2 and in super suits, what more can I say? They are super fun, energetic, loud, sweet & a pain in the bootie all at the same time. They love to mess with each other & Ty, wrestle, tease, run, jump, hug & kiss. Their talking is so funny, everything is 'e' this. 'e-mult' (milk), 'e-jus' (juice), 'e-up tease' (up please). They are very descriptive- fweezing told (the pool at the moment), nice, 'calle run fast', 'my run fast' and everything is 'watch me!!!'

We went to run some errands on Saturday and stopped by the park to make is seem like a more kid friendly outing. They love the 'pouk'.

Tasha, Zach & Zoe came over Sunday morning and we decorated eggs, colored & played outside. You can see Mason's green hand in the picture, he didn't like to use the egg holder thing that comes with the kit, he'd rather use his hand. It's now Wednesday & I think it's finally all off!

We were outside playing and came in to find Zoe like this. 'Look mommy, I give myself tattoo!'. She was so proud of herself & we had to give Luke a matching one, only his was not so big! I guess like mother, like daughter.

Friends & Fun

Last Friday night our friends Michael, Ara, Mikey & Matthew came over for dinner. Michael started teaching the same year as Eric and they met the first day & have been friends ever since. They are from Plainfield IL but Ara is originally from Mexico. I made her promise some enchiladas when we go to their house! We had a fire after dinner the 5 boys roasted marshmallows. They all played so well together and we had a blast.
Matthew proudly showing off his treat.
Ty & Mikey. He is two years older than Ty but towers over him. Big Mike is 6'9" so he has height on his side.

On Sunday Vern called around 6 asking to crash our house. They were having dinner in Palm Springs. A crash from the Sickenberger's is always a fun event. The kids played in front for a long time and then we all sat out back and talked until way to late. They are such a sweet family with great kids and we really enjoy them!

Weekday fun

I am a little behind, these are pictures from last week. It was still quite chilly at night so one evening we had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows, the boys love it and have been asking to do it again every night since!
This is our own personal 'Take Home Chef'. Julie came over one night to cook, brought all of the supplies and then Emily cleaned up. It doesn't get any better than that for me! Thanks Jules!!
My Saturday morning smiles.
I have taken to calling Julie the 'Pied Piper'. (did I spell that ok???) Whenever she is around us and the Posa's she has 5 devout followers at her heels. She is an excellent chaser, piggy back ride giver, finder, player, reader & tickler according to them. What would we do without her????

Is it ready yet?

Luke: Is the pool ready yet?
Mace: Seems a little chilly
Luke & Mace: Too Chilly!!!
Maybe next week!!!!

Caving at JT

This past Sunday Eric took Ty and a few other people up to Joshua Tree National Park to do some caving. Indian Cove in JT has some great climbing areas (if I can remember back to my climbing days..) and a really cool cave system. I hvae been in it once but I find it a little clostrophobic. Everyone else had a blast and Ty loved it.

We love baseball and the Mills!!!

Friday night the Mills family came over for dinner. Chuck works with Eric, his wonderful wife Mary works at the Betty Ford Center and they have two great teenage boys that my boys just about worship. This is Luke chilling with Ben.

On Saturday morning we got Ty all ready to ride and the twins hooked up in their new jogger stroller (mostly I stroll, not jog). We walked to breakfast, a little Taco Asado, muy bueno for anyone who has been there. Then we walked to Palm Springs High School where Ben had a baseball game. He is a sophomore on the varsity team and plays left field, catcher & pitcher. I'm pretty sure he told Mary not to tell us about any more games since then, my boys are HUGE Benny fans and were calling out for him all during the game-when he was catching, on deck, batting.....'Hi Benny, Hi Ben, Hi Ben.....' He finally granted them a 'hi' and then ran off to hit. I am sure not the most manly thing for an almost 16 year old, to have three 2 & 5 year olds cheering you on-constantly. Anyways, for me, I thought it was so cute, the way they look up to him.
Ben's biggest fans.
Ty learning the ropes from Mary.
Superstar Ben up to bat. I didn't get any pictures of Joey, he was at the skate park. I thought embarrassing one Mills boy on a Saturday was enough!!! Ty now wants a skateboard, of course!
Mason riding Julie's bike.
I guess it was a long ride....

Saturday night we went to Posa's for a fish taco night. Zoe wanted to play 'going to bed' with Luke, this is her reading a good night story. Hopefully we won't see this game in 10 years!!!
The chaos that is our 5 kids at the dinner table. Notice: Zach-shirt off=Luke-shirt off. Monkey see, Monkey do.
